How do you make everyone happy, in a shared space?

We know there is no one-size- fits-all answer. But the challenge is presented, so let’s think about it for a moment.

What if we got into the zone? Imagine the zones of activity required of your space, and then decide how to make the most of them. Of course, you will have open borders. After all, this is a shared environment so there will most certainly be some overlap.

For example, you might consider zones including where you will relax and watch TV, where you will entertain, and where young children may visit the space. Do you have enough comfortable seating, appropriate lighting, perhaps a place for kids to display their artwork on the wall with some beautiful washi tape, that beautiful Japanese masking tape crafters are raving about, the one that won’t take the paint off your walls?

Now let’s make a plan to make that space functional and fabulous. With a little research and a little shopping, you can make your dream space a reality. Have fun with the process, and continue to fine-tune things as you go, in your style and your way.
